Messengers
The chasquis were the messengers of the Inca empire. One would be told a message from one person. The chasqui would memorize this message. He would then run down a path to a second chasqui and when there, they would run side by side. The first chasqui would transfer the message and give the second a quipu. A quipu is a string with other strings tied onto it like a small curtain. The strings would have knots in different places to help the chasqui remember the message. This system would continue in a relay until the message got to the reciever.
